Camilla visits the Hampton Court Flower ShowTape no. 08-07-10/1 Location: http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/news/national-news/camilla_enjoys_romance_of_flower_show_1_666289 They say flowers and romance go hand in hand - and that was certainly the case for the Duchess of Cornwall when she attended a gardening show in Surrey. Camilla was watching a fashion parade at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show when a male model wearing a tuxedo put a rose between his teeth, leapt off the catwalk and made a beeline for her. To the Duchess's obvious amusement, the dark-haired man went down on one knee in front of her before presenting her with the dark pink rose. She laughed at the gesture, which drew smiles from the audience at the Vintage England Floristry and Fashion marquee, and later made sure she waved goodbye to the model as she left to continue her tour of the gardens. Camilla, wearing a duck-egg blue long chiffon jacket and dress by Anna Valentine, insisted on carrying the rose herself rather than handing it to a lady-in-waiting. The presentation of the rose is thought to have been a spontaneous move, with a Clarence House spokeswomen saying she knew nothing of it until the man jumped off the stage during a Michael Buble song. The Duchess had been introduced to garden designer and television presenter David Domoney, who organised the fashion event, just before meeting her newest admirer and was presented with a Laura Ashley umbrella - despite the blazing sunshine. The main reason for the Duchess's visit to the flower show was to see An Uprising of Kindness, a garden created by homeless charity Emmaus, of which she is patron. Designed by Bill Butterworth, the garden features edible plants and has an unusual water feature made of a pile of 19 plates, representing the 19 Emmaus communities in the UK. Ian Hutson, 64, said the Duchess had expressed her delight in the garden, created with the help of homeless people living in Emmaus centres. Mr Hutson, who lives in the Cambridge community, said: "She asked about the plants in the garden and what I had contributed - I did the grouting for the tiled pond. "I asked her how her ankle was, and she said it was fine, but she seemed pleased to sit down. She was very pleased with the garden and said she would like it for herself. It means a lot to have her come down here because it raises the profile of the charity." Telegraph. |

Camilla visits BathTape no. 31-03-10/1 Location: Camilla Duchess of Cornwall pays a visit to St. John's Hospital, Julian Housed Bookshop and The Royal United Hospital Bath. On a visit to the St Johns Hospital housing charity earlier in the day, she gave a 95-year-old resident with a bottle of Highgrove whisky as a birthday present. The Duchess helped former paratrooper Walter Petchey blow out the candles on his cake after joining in a rendition of Happy Birthday. Camilla was presented a posy of flowers by 90-year-old Rona Sims, who is a resident at the charitys Combe Park site, before being shown around a newly-refurbished chapel. The second engagement of the day was at the new Julian House charity shop in Walcot Street the organisations second such store. Arriving at the shop, which will sell clothes, bric-a-brac, childrens toys and secondhand books, the duchess handed over five books from Highgrove - and also bought a book for her grandchildren, handing over a £10 note from her handbag. The final engagement of the day was a visit to the Bath Cancer Unit to mark the 25th anniversary of the Bath Cancer Unit Supporters Group at the Royal United Hospital. Unusually the Royal Party arrived about 30 minutes early throwing the organisers into panic, having to quickly gather the official of the Hospital Trust from meetings for the arrival. Having arrived she was able to see the work of the dedicated team of volunteers, as well as meet patients undergoing treatment. The unit provides a range of services, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and other services including orthopaedic surgery. The support group has raised more than £3 million to fund much needed facilities during the 25 years it has been going. She then spent time in the chemotherapy suite talking to patients and nurses. After her visit to the wards the duchess stopped for a cup of tea at the coffee shop, where she met League of Friends volunteers. Following her cuppa, the duchess attended a private reception to celebrate the work of the cancer unit supporters, and visited the NICU. |

Camilla pays a visit to Coronation StreetTape no. 04-02-10/1 Location: Camilla visits Coronation Street http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUkMdHayH February 04, 2010 The Duchess of Cornwall pulled a pint in the Rovers Return on a visit to the set of Coronation Street. HRH Camilla Parker Bowles - visiting Weatherfield to mark the soap's 50th anniversary year – stopped inside the Rovers after taking time to pose for pictures and meet cast members and producers on the famous cobbles outside. She was presented with a bouquet of flowers by young actresses Helen Flanagan and Brooke Vincent. Camilla said she watched Corrie as a child and, after taking a break from the show, had recently started watching again. She said of the set: “It is so small. It is mini. I can't believe I am here!” HRH kept warm in a smart blue coat, adorned with a bespoke brooch – specially made by Whitefield jeweller Keith Simpson in the shape of Hilda Ogden's infamous flying ducks. Camilla also wore flat black boots, a choice she regretted when she chatted to Beverley Callard, who plays Rovers Return landlady Liz McDonald. Camilla told Beverley – who was wearing high heels and a mini skirt – that she looked “glam”. “I should have worn my stilettos,” Camilla said. Beverley replied: “I should have worn a longer skirt. But this was the longest one she (Liz) has got.” The Duchess then watched a scene being filmed inside the set of the pub before trying her hand behind the bar. Pint Former Boyzone singer Keith Duffy coaxed her into serving the drink. He put his hand on her back and said: “You can't leave without pulling a pint.” Camilla happily obliged but asked: “who's going to drink it?” Ryan Thomas, who plays builder Jason Grimshaw took a sip and said: “In the ten years I have been here this is the best pint.” Director of ITV, John Whiston, said: “It has been an exciting morning. We've thoroughly enjoyed hosting a visit to the set by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall.” Copy from Manchester Evening News. |

Camilla plays on a WiiTape no. 27-01-10/1-2 Location: Duchess has a lot of fun with the royal Wii 10:00pm Wednesday 27th January 2010 PENSIONERS took on royalty in a virtual computer game when the Duchess of Cornwall visited a Swindon nursing home. Camilla toured the Church View care home, in Stratton, yesterday, meeting staff and residents. It was her second attempt to visit the care home after she was forced to abandon the first outing in December due to an outbreak of the norovirus there. She was given a posy of yellow roses by resident Vera Hunt and residents showed off their new computer system, which includes internet access, a DVD player and Nintendo Wii. Camilla played a Wii Nintendo 10-pin bowling game with residents Denis Gleeson, 83, and David Rose, 73. And she knocked down nine out of the 10 pins on her first go. When she was initially asked if she wanted to try the game she said: “I’m hopeless at anything like that.” But Mr Gleeson said afterwards: “I’m hopeless at it, but she looked quite good – I’d hate to have to play her if she takes it seriously.” The computer system is designed to entertain residents, but also to allow them to make contact with their family through the internet. Daredevil Mr Gleeson helped to raise money for the new equipment by doing a sponsored microlite flight last October. He said: “She was very nice, very pleasant and makes people feel quite comfortable. “I was a bit apprehensive this morning, but I needn’t have been at all.” Netta Porter, 78, who has been at the home two years, said: “She was lovely, very nice and relaxed. “You can talk to her like a normal person – she just asked me my name and how long I had been here.” Resident Stuart Wilmott, 76, and his wife Julie, 68, who volunteers at the home, both met the duchess. Mr Wilmott said: “It’s the first time I have every met anybody from the royal family. “It was something very nice and it will go down in my memory. “I got a photograph taken and I will frame it and have it up in my room.” Mrs Wilmott, from Stratton, said: “It was lovely, it really was. “She was very nice. I was quite impressed with her actually. “It was a great pleasure and a great honour.” Church View manager Jo Butler said: “She’s obviously very personally involved, very realistic and very aware of people’s needs and their lives and it was just the way she spent so much time with everybody. “We feel honoured that A, she came and B, that she was personally interested in what we’re doing.” |

Charles and Camilla visit Wootton BassettTape no. 29-01-10/1 Location: You Tube link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm3fYG82yR0 The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall paid a visit to Wootton Bassett today to thank the town for its support for the armed forces. Charles and Camilla both laid wreaths at the war memorial in the Wiltshire market town following a service to dedicate a new flagpole. Rfn Aldridge, from Folkestone, Kent, took the death toll of British service personnel to 250 when he died in an explosion near Sangin on January 22. L/Cpl Cooper, from Hereford, was killed in an explosion as he tried to clear a path in an area south of the Sangin district centre. His death brought the total losses to 251. Their bodies were flow into RAF Lyneham this morning and the coffins, draped in Union flags, passed through the town heralded by St Bartholomew's church bell. The Prince of Wales enjoyed a glass of whisky after stopping off at the Cross Keys pub to thank landlady Kirsty Lambert, who regularly looks after bereaved families on repatriation days. They also met members of the Royal British Legion riders branch who attend every repatriation. Rifleman Peter Aldridge Grief: Caroline Aldridge, the mother of Rifleman Peter Aldridge, places her hands on the hearse carrying her son as it passes through the town Daniel Cooper Repatriation: The coffins of Rfm Aldridge and Lance Corporal Daniel Cooper are driven in procession through the town after landing at RAF Lyneham Prince Charles told guest at the town's Conservative Club: 'My wife and I have come here today really to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the people of Wootton Bassett for their unstinting support of Britain's armed forces. 'Only an hour or so ago you lined the High Street for what must have been the 110th occasion to pay your respects to Lance Corporal Cooper of three Rifles, and Rifleman Aldridge of four Rifles who returned home from Afghanistan to their final resting place. 'As a father myself I can only begin to imagine how agonising and devastating it must be for the families of Daniel and Peter and indeed the families of all those who have lost their loved ones on operations overseas. 'As they come to terms with their tragic loss, however inadequate they may be, our thoughts and prayers are with all of them. Prince Charles Gratitude: The Royal couple also stopped at The Cross Keys pub in the town to thank the landlady for her efforts in helping bereaved families Camilla In memory: Camilla, who is colonel-in-chief of 4th Battalion The Rifles, laid a wreath at the war memorial and, below, the wreath left by Prince Charles Prince Charles Rifleman Peter Aldridge Solemn: Pallbearers carry the coffin of Rfm Aldridge from a Hercules at RAF Lyneham 'Above all this country owes these brave men a great debt of gratitude which is why it's wonderful to see the good people of Wootton Bassett honouring that debt time after time when our boys come home on their final journey.' He added: 'Your actions have come to symbolise our nation's grief. We would like to express our profound gratitude to you all for your support.' Town mayor Steve Bucknell said: 'I think it is testament to how important the armed forces are to the Royal Family and what the people of Wootton Bassett have been doing here. 'I think people across the country have wanted to show their support for the armed forces for some time.' There have been more than 100 repatriations passing through Wootton Bassett since April 2007, when runway repairs at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire meant that dead soldiers were flow into nearby RAF Lyneham instead. RAF Lyneham is due to close at the end of 2012, when repatriations should revert to Brize Norton. Australian bush fire serviceTape no. 31-03-09/1 Location: The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall joined the Australian Prime Minister at a memorial service at Westminster Abbey in honour of all those killed in the devastating bush fires which recently swept across south east Australia. Camilla was making her first public appearance since she was forced to cancel two engagements on medical advice after she was diagnosed with acute bronchitis. As previously examined here, the Royal Family have offered extensive tributes and support to all those affected by the bushfires, the most devastating of which destroyed more than 2000 homes and displaced more than 7,500 residents when the infernos swept across Victoria on February 7th. Tuesday’s service included performances by Australian artists as well as prayers, readings and hymns. Speaking ahead of the event, author Kathy Lette – an organiser of the memorial service – said: Australian author Kathy Lette, one of the organisers, said: "We have organised this memorial service as a mark of respect and to raise funds for the victims." "Australians are hardened to bush fires, but nothing could prepare us for this gut-wrenching catastrophe. This service will show that tragedy will not dent an indomitable spirit." |

Opens double BridgeTape no. 26-05-09/1 Location: Figuratively speaking at least, the notoriously extravagant Prince of Wales isn’t averse to pushing the boat out. Now comes an admission from his wife that she'd quite like to replace the decomissioned Royal Yacht Britannia with.....a canoe?! The Duchess of Cornwall made the short walk from her country home of Ray Mill House in Lacock to officially open a newly-restored bridge which is located over the Wilts and Berks canal. While some of the locals in this area are known to have harboured less than friendly sentiments towards possible interlopers - namely gypsies - Camilla thankfully received nothing but peace and goodwill from her neighbours, with whom she engaged in some friendly banter. It was during her chat with youngsters that the second wife of former Naval Officer Wales joked about her lack of sea legs. Having asked the children if they often capsize, the self-deprecating Camilla joked: "I know if it was me I’d be straight in". Despite having suffered a number of well-publicised bouts of sea sickness during overseas tours, the royal guest continued: "I think I’ll have to get a canoe and have a go myself, I could be home in a couple of minutes!" While it's unlikely she'll win over Charles with her wish for a canoe, the light-hearted banter certainly won over the children. According to Rebecca Herd, from Devizes: "Camilla was so friendly, she stopped to stroke my terrier Freddie, and was really excited when I told her his name - she’d had a terrier called Freddie too, a long time ago. My family live locally, and Camilla is always helping out with charities in the area, I think she’s fantastic." Theroyalist.net |

Camilla visits the Met Police Dog SchoolTape no. 29-01-09/1 Location: Relations between royalty and the press took a turn for the worse this afternoon as the Duchess of Cornwall jokingly ordered police officers at a training centre in Kent to "unleash" the dogs against our media colleagues. But while Camilla was keen to see the dogs bite the snappers, the snappers witnessed the dogs attempting to get their own chunk out of the Duchess! Thankfully for the Prince of Wales’ wife, it was her scarf rather than her flesh which had a close encounter with the sharp gnashers of a four-legged 'friend' - a German shepherd called Gunner - as she carried out an engagement at the Metropolitan Police Dog Training Establishment in Keston. This establishment is already well-known in the House of Wales. As you can also see highlighted in this exclusive video from Calyx TV, Prince Harry sent a letter to the police dog handlers and the dogs themselves after he witnessed some of the hounds at work and at play in the gardens of Kensington Palace. The event was his 7th birthday party which was hosted by his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, in September 1991. This letter, dated October 3rd 1991, continues to take pride of place in the police dog training HQ. Today also saw the Duchess enjoy a meeting with far friendlier animals as she visited the Metropolitan Police Mounted Training Establishment at Imber Court in East Molesey in Surrey. Horses trained here help the police maintain order during major public events, from royal ceremonial to demonstrations which regularly take place across London. |

This afternoon, the Duchess of Cornwall briefly took the wrong turn as she arrived for an engagement at a Royal Air Force base in Buckinghamshire. Camilla is Honorary Air Commodore of Royal Air Force Halton. While her step-sons William and Harry are currently training with, respectively, the RAF Search and Rescue and Royal Air Corps, the Duchess kept her feet firmly on the ground during her visit to the Royal Air Force in Aylesbury. As you can see in this exclusive video from Calyx TV, Camilla was given extensive insight into the work of the RAF as she watched training exercises, attended a reception and met recruits who – in contrast to Prince William – likely wouldn’t be forgiven for taking any of the choppers to a stag party on the Isle of Wight. |

Charles and Camilla visit the flood hit areas of Upton-on-Severn and TewkesburyTape no. 27-07-07/1 Location: As you can see in this exclusive video from Calyx TV the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall have been witnessing the devastation caused to local communities in Gloucestershire following the worst flooding in Britain for sixty years. The couple spent part of Friday touring some of the worst hit areas in the county in which they live at Highgrove House. Camilla also has a home in the area, Raymill House, to which she continues to retreat away from the confines of the royal court. Meeting residents of Upton-upon-Severn in Worcestershire and Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, Charles praised the military personnel and ordinary members of the public who've spent much of the week working in often extraordinary circumstances. As you can hear in the video, both Charles and Camilla spent time chatting with locals and even popped into a local pub for a drink with some of those people evacuated from their beseiged homes. Having already made several visits to other regions of Britain hit by similarly destructive floods, Prince Charles also noted the community spirit which has helped locals through some of the most difficult times of their lives, saying: "I've seen some obviously disastrous horrors that have affected so many people." "What I have found so wonderful is the spirit the people have displayed. One of the things I have found about the British is when faced with disaster it brings out the best in us." That sense of community spirit and the reserves of strength shown by many in Gloucestershire and elsewhere may be called upon once more in the days ahead. Weather forecasters in Britain are warning of further heavy rainfall and possible flooding in some of the areas already struggling to cope with the effects of a summer deluge which some experts are warning is a foretaste of the damage caused by global warming. |

The Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince William donned their finest wardrobe for an evening which incorporated a dinner and fly-past. The event, at which Prince Charles was guest of honour in his capacity as Air Chief Marshall, was staged to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force, a regiment which has always enjoyed a close association with the Crown. Charles reaches 60Tape no. 14-11-08/1 Location: He's a few years away from the official male retirement of 65. Nevertheless, the Prince of Wales today received a most unwelcome reminder of the passing of the years from a representative of an institution which has often highlighted and even revelled in his misery. The birthday gift? A bus pass reminding the man with a well-publicised fondness for private jets and yachts that he's now old enough to travel alongside other senior citizens on the nation’s public transport network! Never one to miss an opportunity for self-promotion, The Sun newspaper sent out its veteran Royal photographer Arthur Edwards armed with the an iced cake decorated with a bus pass showing the name and date of birth of 'Charles Windsor'. The present was handed over by royal favourite 'Arfur' as the Prince and Camilla visited Beckton Community College in London for the launch of The Prince’s Trust Youth Week. Today’s launch marks the start of a week-long campaign to highlight the worth of young people in society. During the obligatory walkabout, the prince also received something which may have been a little more welcome than the afore-mentioned sign of his increasing years: a kiss from a female admirer. Naiyer Qureshi broke royal protocol to ask for a smacker from the prince. And thankfully for him (and her) the resulting kiss was greeted with a broad smile from Camilla. Later in the day the royal couple listened to the latest rendition of 'Happy Birthday' as they attended a concert at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, by youngsters whose lives have been enriched thanks to The Prince's Foundation For Children and The Arts. |

Having joined hundreds more dignitaries and onlookers in a two-minute silence at 11am – the very moment the Armistice Treaty was signed by the Allies and Germany in a railway carriage in the Forest of Compiegne, France, in 1918 – the Duchess watched as World War One veterans Bill Stone, aged108, Harry Patch (110) and Henry Allingham (112) laid wreaths at the steps of the Cenotaph. Mr Patch spoke of the importance of continuing to remember the ultimate sacrifice paid by all those who fought for King and Country, saying: "I am very happy to be here today. It is not just an honour for me, but for an entire generation.” Continued the last survivor from the trenches of the First World War: "It is important to remember the dead from both sides of the conflict. Camilla Duchess of Cornwall visits the Devon ShowTape no. 15-05-08/1 Location: It’s not every day that a member of the Royal Family finds themselves saying hello to members of their own family as they embark on a traditional walkabout. But that’s the scenario which faced the Duchess of Cornwall as she made an official visit to the Devon County Show in Exeter last Thursday. As you can see in this lengthy, exclusive video from Calyx TV, Camilla managed to mix duty with pleasure as she met up with her daughter Laura, son-in-law Harry Lopes and her granddaughter, Eliza. The 60-year-old Duchess and wife of one of the country’s most famous (and vocal) organic farmers is President of the Devon County Agricultural Association, a role which has now seen her make several appearances at the annual County Show which is now in its 113th year. This is a significant event for all those with a vested interest in the countryside, for the Devon County Show is the first major agricultural show of the season. The event celebrates traditional rural living in the South West region, with the spotlight focusing on all aspects of the countryside, from cattle farming to horticulture and cuisine. As you can see in this lengthy video, Camilla’s four-hour visit incorporated a wide-range of experiences, from a very public bread-making session with 3-year-old Matthew Shears and his father, Ian, to a past-time which is far more familiar to the future Princess (or Queen?) Consort: the unveiling of yet another plaque. |

Charles and Camilla at GlamisTape no. 21-04-08/1 Location: The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall have unveiled a further memorial to the late Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Continuing their stay in Scotland, Charles and Camilla have been in Angus where, bearing the titles of Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, the couple jointly opened new gates built in honour of the late Queen Mother at the entrance to Her Majesty's ancestral home. Once again wearing full Scottish tartan, the couple appeared in high spirits despite recent newspaper reports suggesting difficulties in their three-year marriage. Camilla also spent some time chatting with local youngsters afforded time off school to watch the royal ceremony, just the latest in a long line of events at which Prince Charles has paid tribute to the life of his late grandmother. During her early years, Lady Elizabeth Bowes Lyon spent many happy says at her childhood home of Glamis Castle. Located near Forfar in Angus, the castle enjoys historic links to the royal family spanning as far back as 1372. It was here too that Elizabeth helped boost the morale of injured soldiers taken to the castle to recuperate from often horrific injuries during the ‘Great War’ of 1914-1918. World War I was declared on August 4th 1914 – the very day on which Lady Elizabeth celebrated her 14th birthday. Many years later, the castle was at the forefront of happier scenes, for it was at Glamis that Her Royal Highness Princess Margaret Rose – the second child of the then Duke and Duchess of York (latterly King George VI and Queen Elizabeth) - was born in August 1930. The new gates are a lasting tribute to the enduring popularity of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in the area in which she grew up and spent many happy times during her 101 years. Wings presentationTape no. 11-04-08/1 Location: Friday's passing out of the second-in-line to the throne and his colleagues from RAF Cranwell invariably saw much of the focus fall on the appearance of the prince's girlfriend, Kate Middleton. After the ceremony, however, it was time for official family only to pose for the cameras as the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince William braved a wet and windy day in Lincolnshire for a tour of some of the aircraft on display in the grounds of the college at which both future kings spent four months of their lives. This was a time for Prince Charles in particular to step back in time as he was reunited with the red plane in which he learnt to fly. Here's a further exclusive video from RAF Cranwell from Calyx TV offering up some highlights of an important day in the life of Prince William of Wales. |

Charles and Camilla open chasdaTape no. 17-03-08/1 Location: He’s already an award-winning artist, sportsman, businessman, sometime TV presenter and, of course, one of the world’s most famous men who is destined to sit on one of the world’s most celebrated (and richest) thrones. Now, Prince Charles has turned not-so-humble shopkeeper. In a move which may have some of his local rivals grinding their teeth in despair at finding themselves in competition with ‘H.R.H. The Prince of Wales’, Charles has now added to his long list of roles by setting up his own Highgrove Shop. The store is located in Tetbury, the quaint old town which is close to the Wales family’s Gloucestershire home. And as to be expected of the shop which – unlike Harrods – will never be in any danger of losing the royal crest over its door, Monday saw its regal owners and two members of the extended family declaring one’s store open for business. As you can see in the above video, also there to witness Charles' new business venture was his step-daughter, Laura Lopes, and her new baby daughter, Eliza. As well as being an official engagement, this was a chance for the family to catch up, Camilla having recently enjoyed time with her other grandaughter -Tom and Sara's 5-month-old baby Lola - during a holiday in the Caribbean. Contrary to earlier reports, the Duchess was not joined on the sunshine break by her ex-husband, Andrew Parker Bowles, and his second wife, Rosemary. Despite being newly returned from their tour of the Caribbean, Charles and Camilla have made a swift return to the spotlight in Britain as they toured their new realm, one which may ultimately herald the opening of further Highgrove stores across Britain. Having already opened up his private estate to literally thousands of guests (pictured), the majority of whom will have been led on a tour of the gardens, the new store is now bringing a scent and taste of Highgrove to the populace at large. On sale are more than 700 products inspired by, or sourced from, the Highgrove garden in which the prince himself has found solace away from his diary of engagements across Britain and around the world. All items have been personally selected for sale by Charles himself. Products range from organic foods and vegetables, including Charlotte potatoes and Happil strawberries, as well as Highgrove honey produced by the royal bees (costing £5.95) and even Lebanese soaps (£5.95) which the prince discovered during an overseas tour. The prices of some of the products on offer have a hint of princely extravagance: a simple mug bearing an image of a Highgrove hen costs no less than £14.95 (personally speaking I think I'd want the hen AND the mug for that price!). Making clear that none of the profits from the shop will go to the royal owner, Clarence House says of this new venture: "All profits from the shop will be channelled into The Prince’s Charities Foundation, who exist to manage and allocate funds generated by The Prince’s social enterprises." |

Camilla's 60th Birthday visit to BromhamTape no. 17-07-07/1 Location: They say life begins at 40. In the Duchess of Cornwall’s instance it could be that it truly begins at 60, hence the broad smile on her face as she celebrated her birthday on a joint engagement with Prince Charles in Wiltshire. The royal couple received a warm greeting despite the dark skies which threatened to rain (or reign!) on Camilla’s parade. One benefit of being a famous birthday girl is that everyone knows it’s your big day, resulting in serenades of Happy Birthday and the obligatory cake. |

During the engagement, Camilla spent some time alongside the camera crew, chatting to members of the public, giving us all a relatively rare opportunity to hear the Duchess speak at some length. On the day Charles and Diana would have been marking their Silver Wedding anniversary, had the marriage not gone so tragically awry, the attention continues to be focused on the marriage of the Prince of Wales and his second wife. |
