William, Harry and Kate at polo,Tape no. 07-06-09/1-2 Location: Unkind wags have dubbed Kate and Pippa Middleton the 'Wisteria Sisters' due to their ferocious ability to climb the social tree. On Sunday afternoon, though, Kate was very much the wallflower as she stayed a good distance from her boyfriend Prince William as she watched the thrills and spills of The Dorchester Cup at Cirencester Polo Club in Gloucestershire. With Kate making only the briefest of appearances before the cameras, having stayed hidden away in a gazebo, William and Harry had the stage to themselves as they helped lead their polo team, Umbogo, to a hard-fought 8-5 victory over their opponents, Lovelocks. Although suitably dressed for the gloomy weather in a grey leather jacket, blue jeans and black wedges, Kate was perhaps wise to stay inside a hospitality tent. Just moments before the match began, thunder and heavy rain threatened to rain on the young man who is destined to, well.....reign! Despite the typically dull English weather, Prince William - who arrived at the event in his new Audi A5 car - maintained his smile throughout, at one point joking as he stepped up to pose for photographs during the presentation of prizes: "It’s just a standard smile, it’s really not that difficult!" As you may have seen here earlier, this was the second day running that the princes who are yet to embark on a full schedule of royal engagements enjoyed a fun-filled day at the polo. Despite the wet weather (and the fact that, yes, we're still officially in Spring), when you're a prince of the realm it appears it really is a case of "summer time, and the living is easy......."
