Harry medal serviceTape no. 05-05-08/1 Location: Chelsy Davy has joined Prince Harry’s family for the first time at a major public event this morning. The prince’s girlfriend sat alongside Prince William in the front row at a ceremony at Combermere Barracks in Windsor where Harry and other members of the Household Cavalry received a medal from the Princess Royal in recognition of their service in Afghanistan. Also watching the event was the Prince of Wales, wearing a burgundy and navy tie, the colours of the regiment of which both his sons are members. However, for today at least, Prince Charles was almost little more than just another proud father. The duty of pinning the Operation Service Medal on the lapels of Prince Harry and his comrades fell to the Queen's only daughter, the Princess Royal (Anne), in her capacity as Colonel of the Blues and Royals of the Household Cavalry. A total of 170 soldiers were honoured at this morning’s ceremony, following which the regiment marched through the streets of Windsor before attending a service at Holy Trinity Church. |

Cirencester Polo 2006Tape no. 22-07-06/1-4 Location: Chelsy Davy watches Prince Harry play polo in the pouring rain at Cirencester Park Polo Club. Chelsy is filmed cooing a friends baby. For the second weekend running, we have an exclusive for you: brand new, never-before-seen footage of Prince Harry's longtime girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, as she spent Saturday afternoon with the Prince of Wales and her royal boyfriend at Cirencester Polo Club in Gloucestershire. This is the very first time the 21-year-old student has been filmed with the heir to the throne. Not that Charles doesn't know his son's girlfriend well: although she is officially staying with friends during her holiday in the UK, Chelsy has been given permission by Prince Charles to stay overnight with his young son at Highgrove House whenever Harry spends the weekend home from his army course in Dorset in the South West of England. 21-year-old Chelsy is in Britain for a six-week stay, Harry having invited her to fly over from her home in South Africa to enjoy time as a "normal couple." Unfortunately, the holiday has produced a rollercoaster of emotions for Chelsy, the Sunday newspapers in particular leading the way in printing sensational headlines about Harry's alleged flirtations with other women, usually when he's become intoxicated following a night of hard drinking. As Chelsy appeared at the Ladbrokes tournament at Cirencester on Saturday afternoon, she'd have been aware that her relationship with the third-in-line to the throne was yet again under scrutiny, friends having spoken about the royal romance for a two-page spread in Saturday's Daily Mail newspaper. Although primarily re-running the allegations of recent weeks, including the stories of Coralie Robinson and Catherine Davies, the feature does include some new information about Harry's romance with the girl he long ago declared to be his "first true love." |
