Ten a Penny PrinceTape no. 21-04-09/1 Location: Over the years he’s come to be known by several names, from "Randy Andy" to "Air Miles Andy". On Tuesday, though, the Queen's second son discovered that – despite spending over four decades in the spotlight – not everybody appears to know who exactly one is! As you can see and hear in this world exclusive video from Calyx TV, Prince Andrew and a crowd of onlookers were most amused when the Managing Director of a company in Wiltshire introduced the visiting Duke of York as "the Duke of Kent". And unfortunately for Tom Roach, the Duke reminded us he's Prince Philip's son by refusing to allow the gaffe to go unnoticed. Speaking during an engagement at which he presented Checkmate UK with the Queen’s Award For Innovation on the day of Her Majesty’s 83rd birthday, Andrew interrupted his address and, referring to the unfortunate Mr Roach, quipped: "Where did you get him from?" The matter didn’t end there. As the company boss offered his apologies for mistaking the Queen's son for her much older cousin, Prince Andrew quipped in reference to the extended Royal Family: "Oh really, Kent, Edinburgh, York, there are many of us all over the place, we come ten-a-penny." With so many relatives and often convoluted titles to remember, is it any wonder the Prince of Wales wants to instigate a slimmed down monarchy when he becomes King?! Theroyalist.net |
